Azlan is the managing director of Green Steel of WA who are currently developing a 450,000 tonne per year green steel mill in the town of Collie in Western Australia as well as a hydrogen and gas powered direct reduced iron plant in the Midwest.
Azlan has over 25 years of experience across project development and delivery as well as plant operations and maintenance in a variety of industries in New Zealand, the USA and Australia.
Unlocking WA’s Green Iron and Steel Potential
Green Steel of WA are currently developing two green steel / iron projects in Western Australia. The first the Collie Green Steel recycling mill, due to take FID this year, mill will be WA’s first steel and the first new steel mill to be built in Australia in over 30 years. The second plant is their 2.5MTPA Mid-West Green Hydrogen DRI plant which will convert WA iron ore into green iron for export. Both of these projects are based on proven, green steel technology with multiple operating examples globally
