Derek is a Chartered Accountant and Fellow of both the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and the Governance Institute of Australia. A finance and governance specialist, he has significant commercial experience across the mining and technology sectors which he brings to his role as CFO of the CRC for Transformations in Mining Economies (CRC TiME) – an organisation aimed at solving the challenge of mine closure and post-mine transitions – economically, socially, culturally and environmentally. Prior to joining CRC TiME, he was CFO and later CEO for the Future Battery Industries CRC, which also had a circular economy focus in the context of the battery supply chain. Derek is also a leading, senior experienced ASX listed company secretary.
