Dominic Da Cruz
Dominic Da Cruz demonstrates that ESG has been a genuine driver of Zenith Energy’s accelerated growth, value creation, and progress towards net zero by 2035. Spearheading ESG and stakeholder engagement at Zenith Energy since 2021, Dominic has been instrumental in the company’s growth as both Australia’s leading independent power producer* (IPP) and a driving force in the bid for net zero and a clean energy future. Inspiring and mobilising teams and stakeholders towards common goals, Dominic offers a clear vision and direction that stakeholders can see benefits in. A firm believer that large-scale, net zero power systems before 2035 are possible – technically, economically and commercially – Dominic brings nearly two decades of clean energy expertise and experience to the conversation, including insights into: Increasing enterprise value through ESG action. Change management and stakeholder engagement. Renewable energy system solutions for the mining sector. Interconnected energy system models. Powering the rapid expansion of data centres with commercially viable, net zero energy systems. Shared risk and reward to prove emerging technologies at commercial scale. Development and integration of emerging renewable technologies. Dominic was instrumental in securing a landmark agreement for engine-off at scale to run a large off-grid mining operation continuously which lay the foundation for Zenith Energy’s engine-off leadership and eventual contracting, funding, building, owning, operating and maintaining most of Australia’s off-grid engine off solutions. Zenith Energy’s engine off solution is powering multiple major mining projects continuously for over 100 hours with renewable energy. Building and strengthening the networks and partnerships needed for a just transition to sustainable energy, Dominic played a key role when Zenith Energy became the first independent power producer to enter into an engagement agreement with First Nations people. The agreement established the 80% majority-owned JV with Tjiwarl in Western Australia’s Goldfields. Zenith is now engaging with over a dozen First Nations groups engaging them meaningfully in Australia’s energy transition. Dominic’s innovation and sustainability achievements at Zenith Energy have contributed to a long list of awards for the company in recent years, including success in 2025 in the Reuters Global Energy Transition Awards, GRESB Infrastructure Asset Assessment benchmarking, UDIA WA Awards for Excellence, Asian Power Awards and Acquisition International’s CSR Awards. Zenith Energy was named as a Sustainability Leader 2025 by the Australian Financial Review.
