Mark Buntine
Professor Mark Buntine is the Head of Curtin University’s WA School of Mines (WASM). Prior to his current role, he has held senior academic leadership positions at Curtin for over 17 years. He holds science degrees from Monash University, a PhD in chemical physics from Stanford University, and a higher education qualification from The University of Adelaide. Following postdoctoral studies at Yale University, Mark established an independent academic career in Australia over 30 years ago. He has an internationally recognised research track record, is a national award winner for teaching excellence, and has developed a career as a transformative academic manager and leader.
